What are the ADDY Awards?

The American Advertising Awards, playfully referred to as the ADDY Awards, is the largest and most representative award ceremony in the advertising industry. The mission of the award ceremony is to recognize and reward the creative spirit and the inspired nature of those in advertising. Freelance creatives, advertisers, and students throughout the Capital District are represented by the broadest creative spirit of advertising by recognizing all forms of advertising — in all varieties of media. And a unique aspect to the competition is that there are three arduous levels. Entries are first judged at the local level through the ADDY Awards. Winners then advance to the second level of judging and participate in one of 15 district competitions. After district winners are selected, the individuals or agencies advance to the third level of judging — the national finals. The ADDY Award winners represent the best of the best.

Who Can Enter the Capital Region ADDY Awards?

Students and professionals alike in Upstate New York are eligible to enter the Capital Region American Advertising division of the ADDYs. Whether you work for yourself, an advertising agency that serves multiple clients, an in-house marketing department, or you’re a college student — we want to see your work. The work submitted must follow the guidelines released by the American Advertising Federation, including when the work was completed. If you aren’t sure if your work qualifies or if you have questions about entering, let us know! We’d be happy to answer any questions you might have.
